Harmony Week and International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Harmony Week (15-21 March) celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
During the week, we have supported the launch of the Close the Gap 2021 Report, and today, 21 March, we are marking the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The struggle against racial discrimination is a central element of UNESCO’s work to build peace in men and women’s minds through education for tolerance, the rejection of racist stereotypes that may persist in culture or the media.
Join us in celebrating Australia’s cultural diversity, from the oldest continuous cultures of First Nations people to the cultures of migrants from across the globe.
